Job summary

Lower Merion High School is seeking a Technical Coach – Theater for the 2026-2027 season. The role is part-time and requires availability after school and some Saturdays in Ardmore, PA.

You will mentor students through scenic design, lighting and production, enforce safety in the wood shop and theater spaces, and coordinate props, rentals and materials under the supervision of the head coaches. Applicants must submit all required forms via Talent Ed and complete clearances including PA Criminal

Qualifications

  • Must be available 3 PM–6 PM on most weekdays and some Saturdays 10 AM–2 PM.
  • Counsel students in theatrical production, management and design techniques across three-production seasons.
  • Supervise students in the wood shop and in theatrical spaces.
  • Maintain safe practices and organization.
  • Mentor students through scenic design, lighting design, scenic fabrication, installation and crew management.
  • Oversee any student rigging.
  • Coordinate prop and set dressing rental pickups.
  • Coordinate lumber, paint and other material orders and deliveries/pickups.
  • Collaborate with Head Coach and Assistant Coaches to support students.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and mentor students in production processes and crew roles.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed in wood shop and theaters.
  • Assist with scenic design, lighting, fabrication and installation tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate rentals, orders and deliveries for props and sets.
  • Support coaches and staff to provide a positive learning environment.

Job Description

Lower Merion High School is looking for a Technical Coach – Theater for the 2026-2027 Season.

Position Requirements

Students take on these positions and responsibilities; the coaches offer inspiration, expertise, mentorship, and training when necessary.
