Job summary

Breeze Airways is seeking a Technical Buyer to establish and manage supplier relationships for aircraft and engine parts, aiming to reduce total cost of ownership and improve service levels. You will create and monitor purchase orders for Tech Ops, resolve PO issues, and leverage Breeze’s buying power to minimize material costs.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in a business field or equivalent purchasing experience.
• 3 years’ experience in Purchasing or similar accounting/finance environment.
• Purchasing and contract negotiation experience.
• General understanding of FAA regulations including FAR Part 121 operations.

• Apply SOX and company policies to ensure compliance.
• Assist with supplier qualification forms for contracts and payments.
• Produce monthly spend savings, project status, and SOX reports.
• Monitor contract performance for compliance.
• Develop policies and process improvements.
• Serve as primary contact with suppliers and major subcontractors.

Breeze is hiring- join us! The Technical Buyer establishes contractual relationships with aircraft and engine parts suppliers who provide the greatest value to Breeze. They assist in sourcing activities for all aircraft and engine parts with the goal of achieving significant reductions in total cost of ownership. They also participate in the delivery of year-over-year productivity improvements while maintaining or improving service levels and reliability. Other responsibilities of the Technical Buyer include creating, issuing, monitoring, and analyzing purchase orders created for Technical Operations (Tech Ops); resolving PO issues with Tech Ops and Accounts Payable; and ensuring that Breeze’s purchasing power is properly leveraged to minimize material costs.

Here’s what you’ll do

• Analyze the technical operations business spare parts requirements and source cost-effective solutions
• Conduct sourcing events by developing statements of work, creating requests for proposals (RFPs), and managing the supplier proposal process
• Select or recommend suppliers and negotiate and administer contracts
• Carry out activities associated with purchasing aircraft and engine materials, parts, supplies, and services to support the operational requirements while ensuring the terms are in Breeze’s best interest
• Plan and execute purchases as required based on system-generated requisitions
• Manage pertinent purchase activities and information regarding part shortages, alternate suppliers, and delivery schedules
• Apply purchasing policies, corporate policies, and Sarbanes‑Oxley controls (SOX) to ensure company compliance, accuracy, and reliability of corporate financial reporting statements
• Assist with collecting forms (e.g., supplier profile questionnaire, tax identification) to process supplier contracts and payments
• Produce monthly spend category savings, project status, contract management, and SOX reports
• Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations
• Manage suppliers by conducting data analyses, conducting business review meetings, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with stated contract service levels
• Participate in the development and creation of policies, procedures, and process improvements
• Serve as the primary point of contact with suppliers and major subcontractors
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• 4-year degree in a Business-related field, or equivalent experience in a purchasing role
• 3 years’ experience in a Purchasing role or similar business accounting/finance environment
• Purchasing and contract negotiation experience
• General understanding of FAA regulations including FAR Part 121 operations
• Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of spreadsheet modeling
• High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
• Complete projects on time with minimal supervision; ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
• Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of aviation maintenance, supply chain, and contracts
• Purchasing and supply management professional certification
• Trax experience
• Previous supply chain experience in the aviation/airline sector
