A leading consulting firm is seeking a Business Analyst to support their Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client. This remote position involves coordinating with technical and business stakeholders, creating high-quality project documentation, and managing communications across distributed teams. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our team supporting our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.
This is a remote position.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the IRS-required Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI). The MBI requires the selected candidate ====ship or Permanent Resident () status for at least 3 years. The MBI certification process will take 4 to 5 months, unless the candidate already holds an active MBI, which may shorten the timeline.
Responsible for gaining a detailed understanding of components of the business and translating that knowledge into the requirements for systems or processes.
Act as primary liaison between project business staff and technical staff.
May lead area of requirements development including; work plan development, timeline, and resource management.
Evaluate and recommend enhancements to application efficiency and reliability.
May provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area.
Coordinate and engage with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analysis, validate requirements, produce proof of concept, concept of operations, user stories, diagrams, process flows, and other outputs.
Provide governance support and reporting activities to include coordination of data calls, tracking of tasks and milestones, and communicate status of projects and activities.
Create, update, and manage high-quality project documentation that meets IRS acceptance criteria, acquisition strategies, use cases, or executive briefings. Create and review reports.
Develop briefings, presentations, and reports to stakeholder groups and executive audiences
Develop and maintain project schedules to allow tracking of performance activities required
Work with teams dispersed across geographical sites
Foster collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, on process improvements, and in addressing and escalating project risks and issues
Document, manage, and report project risks according to IRS Risk Management process
Support and participate in release planning sessions.
Monitor multiple release schedules and support product managers in ensuring critical actions and milestones are completed.
Track and monitor complex risks and dependencies across the organization that might impact the successful delivery of multiple projects, including change requests.
Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with all IRS security requirements
Provide status reports, attend meetings and take/distribute minutes

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate’s education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus’s total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
