Job summary

Jefferson Capital in Sartell, MN seeks a Senior Technical Business Analyst to act as a bridge between business lines, infrastructure, and development teams on new projects and enhancements. You will own the requirements lifecycle, document processes, and ensure quality through testing and user acceptance.

You will leverage MS SQL Server to validate inputs and outputs, analyze data to inform decisions at all levels, and help craft technical specifications for delivery teams.

Qualifications

  • College degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document project requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and writing complex queries preferred.
  • Experience in the financial services industry and agile environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops an in-depth understanding of Jefferson Capital processes, systems, and core data assets.
  • Captures information from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, drills down high-level information into detail and summarizes low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Documents technical requirements based on functional requirements requested by the business.
  • Performs one on one interviews, hosts group meetings, and conducts workshops.
  • Works with members of the development team to develop new solutions and enhance existing products.
  • Develop test cases for new and existing features, perform QA testing, work with business units to develop and execute user acceptance tests, and logs/tracks status of defects.
  • Supports formal Project Management Life Cycle, Software Development Life Cycle, and Change Management Process.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Takes pride in ownership of delivered products that perform as expected and are free from defects.

Job Status/Hours: Exempt; 40+ hours per week; primarily Monday - Friday days

Salary: $90,000-$120,000

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Technical Business Analyst is an integral member of the development team. In this role you will act as a liaison to facilitate collaboration between Business Lines, Infrastructure, and members of the Development Team for new projects and enhancements. The Senior Technical Business Analyst is the technical expert for the applications that they support. Individuals are responsible for gathering user requirements for new projects, testing new and modified applications, and documenting processes. E xperience and understanding of MS SQL Server positions individual to efficiently and effectively validate inputs and outputs from various systems. Individuals will assist in finding new ways to leverage information to influence business decisions at all levels.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • College Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field; or equivalent related experience.
  • Proven track record in successfully gathering, analyzing and documenting project requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing complex and efficient queries preferred.
  • Experience in the financial services industry (credit, banking, insurance, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience working in agile software development environments preferred.
  • Requires little direct supervision or assistance to complete tasks.
  • Ability to extract requirements from business areas and document those requirements into clear and actionable tasks.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Able to contribute to a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, including peers and managers.
  • Able to execute a systematic, disciplined, analytical, and logical approach in problem solving.
