Technical Business Analyst | 455139

Location: 100% Remote

Position Type: Direct-Hire

Hourly / Salary: to $145K

JOB SUMMARY

Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Technical BA for a Direct-Hire opportunity that is 100% remote. The Technical BA will play a pivotal role within a strategic initiative to rebuild consumer-facing digital platforms, including mobile apps, websites, kiosks, and supporting internal tools.

The Technical BA will be embedded in the Discovery Team, which focuses on homepage, location functions, and loyalty program features, including rewards, offers, and code scanning at checkout. The Technical BA will support the shift from reliance on external contractors to internal ownership of development processes, aiming to reduce costs and build sustainable expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with Product / Design / Engineering Teams – Understanding the Current State of Systems / Services / UX
• Technical Acumen – Understanding Data Structures / REST APIs / JSON / API Contracts / Pseudo-Coding, etc.
• Tool Proficiency – JIRA / Confluence / Figma / Lucid (Modeling Processes / Requirement Documentation)
• Facilitate Discovery / Reqs Gathering – Document User Journeys / Process and Data Flows / System Interactions
• Collaborate With Product Design Team – Supporting the Inclusion of User Research / User Feedback in the Discovery Process When Applicable | Document Relevant Insights to Inform Product Decisions / Req Definition
• Lead the Documentation of Business / Technical Reqs – Translate Business Needs into Clear Epics / User Stories | Producing Clear / Succinct / Detailed Documentation | Proactively Identifying Edge Cases / Dependencies
• Define / Maintain Acceptance Criteria – Supporting Development / Validation of Features
• Backlog Management – Lead / Contribute to Backlog Grooming / Refinement Meetings
• Identify / Document Internal / External Dependencies – Edge Cases / Risks / Assumptions / Decisions / Impacts
• Conduct Validation Testing of Developed Features – Ensuring Alignment with Reqs Prior to Formal QA Review
• Change Management – Scoping / Supporting Prioritization with Input from Product Owner

• Technical Business Analyst – Supporting Digital Products / Enterprise Technology Initiatives, etc.
• Requirement Documentation – Writing Functional / Non-Functional Requirements (System Behavior / Performance Expectations / Accessibility Standards / Error Handling)
• Direct Stakeholder Interfacing / Management– Translating Input from Stakeholders into Clear Documentation
• Process / System Modeling – Modeling Business Processes / System Flows (Flowcharts / Wireframes / Diagrams)
• Technical Acumen (familiarity) – REST APIs / System Integrations / Platform Architecture

• Tool Proficiency – JIRA / Confluence / Figma / Lucid (Modeling Processes / Requirement Documentation)

PREFERRED (not required)

• QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) / Retail Industry Experience (strongly preferred)
• Functional Testing – Functional Testing / Quality Assurance (hands-on) (strongly preferred)

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
