At Interpath Laboratory, we’re looking for a Technical Assistant to support our mission of delivering top-notch diagnostic services. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a collaborative, patient-focused and high-tech environment that values innovation and teamwork.Work Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday, VariableStarting Wage: $21/hour

What You’ll Do
  • Support Lab Operations: Perform a broad range of laboratory procedures and assist Medical Technologists (MTs) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) in chemistry testing.
  • Operate Advanced Equipment: Work with automated laboratory instruments, electronic systems, and precision tools, providing troubleshooting support when needed.
  • Ensure Quality: Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance initiatives to maintain our high standards.
  • Administrative Excellence: Deliver exceptional customer service, answer phones professionally, and ensure accurate documentation while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Safety First: Follow established safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Evolve with Us: Take on additional duties as operational needs grow and change, contributing to the success of the entire team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science field is required. Relevant fields may include, but are not limited to: Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory practices and principles is essential.
  • Coursework or prior experience in chemistry, or clinical laboratory sciences is highly desirable.

General Physical Requirements

The physical demands for the Technical Assistant position at Interpath Laboratory include:

  • Mobility: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing laboratory duties.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle laboratory instruments, pipettes, and computer systems.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds, such as lab equipment or supply boxes.
  • Visual Acuity: Strong visual skills to read and interpret data, operate equipment, and identify specimens.
  • Hearing and Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with team members, patients, and clients in person and over the phone.
  • Flexibility: Capacity to bend, stoop, and reach as needed to access equipment or supplies.
  • Attention to Detail: Sustained focus and concentration required for accurate specimen handling and testing procedures.

OSHA Category

This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
