Position Overview:

Zynga is looking for a TECHNICAL ARTIST to join the team that brings to life one of many beloved games. We make the world’s most beautiful slots and do so in a fast-moving, supportive, and energetic environment. Our team consists of industry veterans from the casino and video game industry, giving us great depth and adaptability.

The Technical Artist will work with a team of Designers, UX, Concept Artists, Animators, Producers, and Software Engineers to develop beautiful and optimal game content. The Technical Artist acts as a liaison between engineering and all disciplines, responsible for planning, implementation, documentation, and optimization of art setups to support our game’s animation and design needs. A key member whose primary role is to support the team and the product, expected to be proactive in communication daily.

Our ideal candidate is a great communicator, team player, and proactive problem solver. You draw from a range of skills to creatively determine solutions. You are a contributor of ideas, overseer of pipelines, and collaborator across discipline lines, providing expertise and seeking out potential issues before they become problems.

What You'll Do:
  • Integrate art assets (prefabs, 2D and 3D), animations, VFX in the game using the Unity engine.
  • Handle rigging and skinning of 3D and 2D (sprite) assets.
  • Manage Unity prefabs, art assets, animations, animation controllers, VFX (2D & 3D).
  • Create and manage game environment, lighting, and optimizations.
  • Develop tools within the pipeline.
  • Collaborate closely with the Art team (Concept, 3D artists, animators), Developers, UI/UX, and game designers to integrate assets.
  • Receive and digest feedback constructively, estimate work, and track time.
  • Work effectively as part of a team with game development experience.
What You Bring:
  • 3-5 years of industry experience with Unity engine game development.
  • Proficiency in Maya, Unity, Photoshop, Texture Packer, Visual Studio.
  • Strong knowledge of VFX and texture optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages relevant to applications.
  • Experience with version control software like Perforce and Git.
  • Solid skills in scripting, rigging, and VFX.
  • Ability to coordinate with Design, UI/UX, Dev, QA teams to ensure smooth project flow.
  • Understanding of cameras, lighting, and shaders in Unity.
  • A passion for games and social networking.
  • Experience with Git and Perforce.
  • Unity animations and NGUI samples are encouraged.
