Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Technical Architecture & Quality Assurance Lead for an oversight project in the United States. You will provide independent technical oversight, assess architecture, solution design, testing, data management, and operational readiness.

You will collaborate with project stakeholders, track progress, monitor budget and schedule, and produce regular status reports. Travel up to 30-50% may be required.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience with large-scale modernization, PMO/QA/IV&V, or oversight engagements.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement with executives, project teams, and vendors.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions, data migration, and systems integration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assessments of architecture, design, testing, data management, and performance.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify risks and validate technical approaches.

Provides independent technical oversight and quality assurance support for large-scale technology modernization and transformation initiatives. Leads assessments of technical architecture, solution design, software development, testing, data management, system performance, and operational readiness. Works with project stakeholders to identify risks, validate technical approaches, assess quality controls, and provide actionable recommendations that support informed decision‑making and successful project outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers on various initiatives and projects to track progress and provide support as necessary.
  • Support leadership in ensuring that the project is delivered to specifications, is on time, and within budget.
  • Work closely with management and work groups to create and maintain work plan documents.
  • Track the status and due dates of projects.
  • Manage relationships with project staff responsible for projects.
  • Produce regular weekly and monthly status reports that could include; work plan status, target dates, budget, resource capacity, and other reports as needed.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and reviews.
  • Adhere to contract requirements and comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead technical architecture, design, and engineering assessments.
  • Evaluate testing, quality management, and release readiness activities.
  • Assess data conversion, migration, and system integration approaches.
  • Review system performance, operational readiness, and technical risks.
  • Participate in stakeholder interviews, technical reviews, and project oversight activities.
  • Develop findings, risk assessments, and improvement recommendations.
  • Support project reporting, executive briefings, and oversight deliverables.
  • Provide leadership across technical, quality, and delivery assurance workstreams.
  • Ability to accommodate limited travel to client location. Anticipated travel is between 30-50%.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Additional Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting large-scale technology modernization, systems integration, software delivery, PMO, QA, IV&V, or oversight engagements.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating solution architecture, software development, testing, system integration, and release management activities.
  • Experience assessing technical risks, quality controls, operational readiness, and project performance.
  • Experience developing findings, recommendations, executive briefings, and technical assessment reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively with executives, project managers, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions, data migration, systems integration, and enterprise application modernization preferred.
  • Experience supporting government, health and human services, or other highly regulated environments preferred.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
