Job summary

Lazer Technologies is a world-class digital product studio seeking a Technical Lead for Shopify projects. You will guide a team of engineers across the full Shopify stack, including frontend, backend, and integrations, partnering with clients to deliver robust commerce experiences.

You will lead 2-3 large commerce projects, migrate platforms to Shopify, and own ERP/CMS/OMS integrations while mentoring the team and ensuring high-quality execution across online storefronts and headless

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of large Shopify commerce projects.
• Experience migrating from other platforms to Shopify (BigCommerce, Salesforce, Magento, WooCommerce).
• ERP integrations (Netsuite) and iPaaS familiarity.
• CMS integrations (Sanity, Contentful).
• Deep software architecture background for scalable storefronts and backends.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2-3 large commerce projects with delivery oversight.
• Oversee Shopify ecosystem components: frontend, backend, apps, and integrations.
• Drive ERP, CMS, and OMS/WMS/IMS integrations across client work.
• Mentor engineers and ensure solid execution across Shopify stack (online, POS).
• Oversee headless frontend (React, Hydrogen, Next.js, Remix) and backend (Node.js, Python, Go, Ruby).
• Ensure smooth third‑party app integrations and private/public Shopify app development.

Lazer Commerce is a specialized team within Lazer focused on crafting scalable, high-performing commerce experiences across the Shopify ecosystem. We partner with forward-thinking brands and agencies to design and implement custom storefronts, headless architectures, and robust backend integrations. From theme development to complex ERP and OMS workflows, our engineers bring deep expertise in Shopify, modern frameworks, and commerce infrastructure to help clients launch, scale, and optimize their digital retail experiences.

Job Summary

Lazer is seeking Technical Lead to lead the development of Shopify projects, crafting seamless user experiences and robust back-end solutions. As a Technical Lead on this team, you will support Lazer’s engineers in building products across our entire portfolio of clients and across every part of the Shopify stack (online, POS, etc.). You will work closely with key clients stakeholders, lead 2-3 projects, and have tremendous impact in supporting the engineers on the team to make sure execution is solid. You will also be a part of the strongest Shopify-focused engineering team in the market, and work closely with like-minded engineers who help each other continuously grow.

The Role

• Lead 2-3 large commerce projects and work with the engineers on the team to ensure delivery excellence

• Lead large commerce implementations from one commerce platforms onto Shopify (e.g. BigCommerce, Salesforce, Magento, WooCommerce migrations)

• Lead ERP integrations (e.g. Netsuite), including familiarity with iPaaS solutions for such integrations

• Lead CMS integrations (e.g. Sanity, Contentful, etc)

• Understanding of the different components of the Shopify ecosystem (e.g. markets, checkout extensibility, functions, analytics, mobile, testing, etc)

• Deep background in software and system architecture

• Oversee Headless frontend development (e.g. React, Hydrogen, Next.js, Remix)

• Oversee backend development (e.g. Node JS, Python, Go or Ruby preferred)

• Knowledge of Liquid/Theme development

• Lead OMS/WMS/IMS integrations (e.g. Manhattan)

• Shopify app store development (i.e. building and launching apps privately for merchants or publicly on the Shopify App Store)

• Subscriptions (e.g. Recharge, Ordergroove, Upscribe, or Shopify’s Native Subscriptions API)

• Ensure flawless integration of third-party apps, APIs, and customizations.
