Job description

CLIENT DELIVERY MANAGER – TECHNICAL ARCHITECT

Experience: 8+ Years

Employment Type: Full-Time

Technology: eCommerce | Order Management | MACH | Cloud-Native SaaS

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We're not looking for someone who simply manages technical projects. We're looking for an exceptional architect who can design solutions, write code, lead technical discussions, and deliver results for enterprise customers.

At KIBO, we're building the future of enterprise digital commerce using modern, composable, cloud-native technology.

We're seeking a technically accomplished Client Delivery Manager – Technical Architect who combines hands‑on software engineering expertise, strong architectural judgment, and exceptional client‑facing skills.

You’ll lead the design and implementation of sophisticated eCommerce and Order Management solutions, connecting KIBO's platform with complex enterprise systems.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership position. You must be comfortable moving between architecture, coding, integration design, troubleshooting, and customer conversations.

If you're an architect who still loves to code, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes pride in delivering exceptional technical solutions, we want to meet you.

ABOUT KIBO

KIBO is a global SaaS technology company delivering modern, composable digital commerce solutions for B2B, B2C, and D2C organizations.

Our platform brings together enterprise eCommerce, Order Management, and Subscriptions, helping organizations simplify complex operations and deliver outstanding customer experiences. Leading brands including Ace Hardware, Zwilling, and Reeds trust KIBO to support their commerce operations.

Our technology embraces MACH architecture:

  • Microservices‑based: Independently deployable services supporting scalability.
  • API‑first: Modern integration capabilities connecting enterprise ecosystems.
  • Cloud‑native SaaS: Modern infrastructure designed for enterprise‑scale operations.
  • Headless: Flexible architecture separating customer experiences from back‑end commerce capabilities.

KIBO is MACH Alliance Certified and was recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Order Management Systems, Q1 2025, and a Challenger in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce. We're committed to being at the forefront of AI adoption and intelligent automation, embracing emerging technologies to accelerate innovation, improve engineering productivity, and deliver better customer experiences. Our global team of KIBOnauts operates in a remote‑friendly environment built on trust, technical excellence, continuous learning, and customer obsession.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
LEAD ENTERPRISE COMMERCE ARCHITECTURE
  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise eCommerce and Order Management solutions.
  • Architect scalable, secure, maintainable integrations between KIBO and customer systems.
  • Lead technical architecture discussions involving APIs, microservices, cloud infrastructure, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Translate complex customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Evaluate architectural trade‑offs involving performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
REMAIN HANDS-ON WITH ENGINEERING
  • Write and review production-quality code, technical components, and proofs of concept.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, integration, deployment, and performance issues.
  • Guide engineering teams through difficult technical challenges.
  • Support QA, UAT, performance testing, and production readiness.
OWN TECHNICAL CLIENT DELIVERY
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers.
  • Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and solution design discussions.
  • Collaborate with customer architects, development teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Guide implementation and upgrade projects through successful deployment.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Project Management teams to meet milestones, maintain quality, and support successful go‑lives.
DRIVE TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, architecture patterns, and technical documentation.
  • Promote engineering best practices and implementation standards.
  • Improve the consistency, reliability, and scalability of customer solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED – MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

We have high technical standards. Please review these requirements carefully before applying.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise commerce or retail software solutions.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise architecture and technical solution design.
  • Experience integrating commerce platforms with ERP, catalog, inventory, fulfillment, and other enterprise systems.
  • Strong customer‑facing experience leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders.
HANDS-ON TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
  • Experience with modern frameworks and technologies such as Next.js, GraphQL, and Backbone.js.
  • Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with containerization, orchestration, and modern deployment practices.
  • Strong understanding of application security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

IMPORTANT: This is not a purely conceptual architecture or project management role. You must be able to write, explain, troubleshoot, and defend your own code.

ENTERPRISE COMMERCE KNOWLEDGE
  • Strong understanding of enterprise eCommerce or OMS platforms.
  • Experience with complex order, inventory, catalog, fulfillment, or commerce workflows.
  • Knowledge of integration challenges involving multiple enterprise systems.
  • Ability to identify architectural risks, performance limitations, and technical dependencies.
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong customer‑facing presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior engineers, architects, and enterprise customers.
  • Sound technical judgment and confidence explaining architectural decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed engineering and delivery teams.
EXPERIENCE THAT WILL SET YOU APART

We're especially interested in candidates with:

  • Experience in composable or headless commerce.
  • Familiarity with MACH architecture principles.
  • Enterprise Order Management Systems and complex order orchestration experience.
  • Exposure to platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools, SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, or similar solutions.
  • Experience with high-volume retail transactions, inventory availability, payments, and fulfillment.
  • Experience developing reusable technical frameworks and integration accelerators.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and intelligent automation.
  • Experience mentoring software engineers or technical leads.
OUR HIRING PROCESS – WHAT TO EXPECT

We take technical hiring seriously. Our process is designed to identify engineers and architects with genuine expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to deliver exceptional work.

We believe candidates should know what to expect before applying.

STEP 1 – LIVE VIDEO RECRUITER SCREEN

An initial conversation focused on your professional background, enterprise commerce experience, technical expertise, communication skills, and career objectives.

We'll explore your architecture responsibilities, recent hands‑on development experience, and customer‑facing capabilities.

A deeper discussion covering your architectural experience, technical decision‑making, client delivery capabilities, leadership, and approach to complex enterprise implementations.

STEP 3 – LIVE TECHNICAL INTERVIEW AND CODING CHALLENGE

Candidates advancing beyond the recruiter and leadership interviews will participate in a live technical interview that includes a hands‑on coding challenge.

This is a real‑time evaluation conducted with our technical team. There is no take‑home assignment.

Be prepared to:

  • Write and explain code during the interview.
  • Demonstrate practical problem‑solving and debugging skills.
  • Discuss your approach to application architecture and system integration.
  • Explain technical decisions and alternative solutions.
  • Answer questions about APIs, distributed systems, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Demonstrate your ability to think independently and solve technical problems under realistic conditions.

We are looking for architects who can actually code, not simply describe how software should be built.

BEHAVIORAL AND COGNITIVE ASSESSMENTS

Candidates will also complete behavioral and cognitive assessments as part of our selection process.

OUR POLICY ON AI DURING INTERVIEWS AND TECHNICAL EVALUATIONS

At KIBO, we don't just embrace AI — we’re committed to being at the forefront of putting it to work. We actively champion AI, intelligent automation, and emerging technologies to help our teams innovate faster, solve complex problems, and continuously improve how we operate.

We want engineers and architects who are excited about AI, understand its potential, and know how to use it responsibly. However, there is one important distinction: During our interview process, we want to evaluate you, not an AI‑generated version of you.

Our interviews and technical evaluations are designed to assess your personal technical knowledge, software development skills, architectural judgment, communication abilities, and independent problem‑solving. During live interviews and coding challenges, candidates may not use AI tools to generate answers, write code, provide real‑time coaching, or assist with technical responses unless explicitly authorized by the interviewer. If we determine that a candidate is using unauthorized AI assistance during an interview or technical evaluation, we will politely conclude the interview and discontinue the selection process.

We strongly encourage AI adoption in our workplace. We simply believe the best way to identify exceptional talent is to first understand what each candidate can do independently.

We want to meet the real you — your technical abilities, your judgment, your experience, and your potential.

WHY JOIN KIBO?
  • Work with modern, MACH-certified enterprise SaaS technology.
  • Help design and deliver sophisticated eCommerce and Order Management solutions.
  • Join a company committed to advancing AI adoption and intelligent automation.
  • Collaborate with talented engineers, architects, and technical leaders around the world.
  • Work directly with enterprise customers on meaningful technical challenges.
  • Enjoy a remote‑friendly global culture built on trust, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Access applicable health, wellness, time‑off, and employee benefits.
ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON?

We're intentionally selective about who joins our technical organization.

We're looking for architects who have earned their expertise through real engineering experience — professionals who can write code, understand complex enterprise systems, make sound architectural decisions, and confidently lead technical conversations with customers.

If you have the engineering depth, enterprise commerce experience, and technical leadership we're looking for, we'd welcome your application.

If your experience is primarily limited to project coordination, high‑level architecture diagrams, or technical oversight without recent hands‑on development, this position is unlikely to be the right fit.

KIBO is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
