Overview

The Technical Architect, Azure Infrastructure is responsible for the design, build, and delivery of complex projects focusing on Microsoft technologies across all industry verticals to meet our client's technology and business needs. This role requires a deep understanding of data analytics, business intelligence, and the design, implementation, and delivery of cloud-based solutions for enterprise clients. This includes, but is not limited to developing technical architecture, and preparing client documentation. You must have significant development experience and an understanding of Microsoft's cloud strategy.

Our engineering team consults with our project management team and clients to deploy highly technical solutions to help our clients achieve their business objectives. This person will be a subject matter expert for strategic client opportunities covering one or more technology areas with a focus on Azure Infrastructure.

Location: Remote if candidate residence is outside a reasonable commute to Tempe, AZ; Hybrid if local to Tempe, AZ.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement technical architectures for Azure cloud-based solutions, ensuring they align with client's business objectives.
Host technical workshops to gather requirements and present solutions.
Define data management and governance practices to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance within Microsoft technologies.
Identify opportunities to optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency; implement improvements accordingly.
Prepare comprehensive client documentation, including technical specifications and user guides.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Pre-Sales Engineers, developers, project managers, business analysts) to ensure successful project outcomes.
Mentor other architects and engineers; share knowledge and experience.
Participate in planning, reviews, and retrospectives; deliver solutions as a team.
Approve detailed designs with project/executive sponsorship; drive globally available, secure, and reliable service designs.
Execute daily tasks across multiple projects and report time spent on all activities.
Stay up-to-date with the latest Microsoft technologies and industry trends to continuously improve solutions and methodologies.

Qualifications

Job Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
7+ years of senior-level experience with related technologies.
Minimum 7 years of experience in a technical consulting role including implementations; comfortable in client-facing meetings.
Strong oral and written communication skills; strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently; ability to complete assigned tasks.
Azure IaaS experience includes: Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Azure Backup, Azure Networking, Azure automation (ARM templates, JSON), Fabric, Purview.
Experience with Physical to Virtual migrations (P2V) and core data center skills (Storage, Networking, Windows Server administration).
Scripting and automation; Microsoft technical certification in 3-4 competency areas; advanced technical skill in 1-2 complimentary areas.

Highly Desirable Skills

Analytics and Business Intelligence: turn raw data into actionable insights using Azure data and analytics services (Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, HDInsight) and BI tools (Power BI, Analysis Services, Data Explorer).
