Job summary

Boon Technologies, Inc. is building an agentic operating system for construction preconstruction, bridging Rails, Python ML services, and LLM agent runtimes.

The Technical Architect will own cross-surface architecture and help scale from thousands to hundreds of thousands of drawings monthly. The role blends hands-on coding with architectural leadership, requiring deep experience in production AI systems, cloud platforms, and scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production software
• 3+ years as senior staff, principal, architect, or CTO at a product company
• Deep experience with two of: Rails or Python monoliths, computer vision pipelines, LLM/agent systems, data-intensive B2B SaaS
• Fluent in cloud infra (AWS and/or GCP), PostgreSQL at scale, background jobs (RabbitMQ, SideKiq), modern deployment
• Track record of architectural decisions that supported 10× growth
• Wrote and shipped production code in the last 6 months and plan to continue
• Familiar with SRE and DevOps - Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD; collaborate with SRE teammates

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical architecture across Rails app, Python services, agent SDK, and data platform
• Drive scalability, reliability, and cost of CV/LLM/VLM pipelines as blueprint throughput grows
• Set technical direction for model infrastructure: vision models, LLM orchestration, agent runtime
• Lead architectural reviews, raise engineering bar with docs, mentor senior engineers
• Collaborate with CEO and product on 12–18 month technical roadmap: make vs buy decisions
• Still write code and handle incident response and code reviews weekly
