Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring ecosystem in a large-scale environment.

You will lead RESTful API and Microservices architectures, including Kafka-driven event processing, and drive cloud adoption on AWS while shaping secure, scalable solutions across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience with microservices.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications with Spring Boot.
• Lead architecture of RESTful APIs and Microservices, including event-driven apps with Kafka.
• Own architectures translating complex requirements into scalable, secure solutions.
• Apply GoF and enterprise design patterns to improve performance and maintainability.
• Participate in SDLC activities from requirements to production support.
• Drive cloud transformation on AWS and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Build high-volume batch processing using Spring Batch and data workflows.
• Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to standards, and guide teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align delivery with business goals.
• Mentor onshore and offshore developers to ensure delivery excellence.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with hands-on experience in:
• Spring Core, AOP, MVC, Security
• Spring DAO, ORM
• Spring Batch and Spring Integration
• Hibernate / JPA
• Extensive experience designing and implementing Microservices-based architectures.
• Strong expertise in developing RESTful web services.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms.
• Solid understanding and practical application of design patterns and enterprise integration patterns.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of performance tuning, scalability, and secure application design.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring ecosystem.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of RESTful APIs and Microservices, including event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Own application and solution architectures, translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Apply GoF and enterprise design patterns to enhance system performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
• Participate hands-on across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Drive cloud transformation initiatives, migrating and modernising applications on AWS.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Build and manage high-volume batch processing solutions using Spring Batch, including scheduling and data-driven workflows.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to architectural standards, coding best practices, and user story acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and align technical delivery with business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and guide onshore and offshore development teams, ensuring delivery excellence and resolving complex technical challenges.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and frameworks, proactively recommending improvements and innovations.
