Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to software development projects by writing, testing, and debugging Java code, with a focus on complex and business-critical modules.
  • Participate in defining and refining software requirements and system specifications for reinsurance applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Ops) to meet business and technical objectives.
  • Assist in solving technical challenges and researching innovative solutions for system improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and act as a subject matter expert for reinsurance system components.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Debug and troubleshoot production issues, working closely with support and operations.
  • Contribute to evaluating and adopting new tools, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across the team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with at least 2 years in a Technical Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience in enterprise application development.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of software development practices and Agile methodologies.
  • Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Reinsurance or Insurance domain, especially familiarity with SICS or equivalent systems.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), CI/CD tools, and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications in software development or cloud technologies.
  • Home office setting, remote work within the United States.
  • Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $73,100 - $135,700.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
