Job description

Position Summary

This is a temporary or an on‑call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support such as computer programming, operations, research support, medical patient care, and technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication, or operation.
  • Care for the Heath‑Heckman Lab bobtail squid facility (50 % of the time) and the Braasch Lab Ancient Fish Facility (50 % of the time).
  • Perform aquarium and equipment maintenance, animal care and welfare checks, water chemistry measurement and maintenance, record keeping, facility organization and cleaning, and organization of facility users.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair using tools.
Desired Qualifications
  • BA/BS, experience with both salt and freshwater systems.
  • Experience with molecular biology/genetics.
  • Knowledge in aquatic animal biology.
  • Experience in general maintenance and repair using tools.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with aquatic animal care and aquarium maintenance.
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
