Job summary

Buckingham Search seeks a Manager to join a fast-growing real estate and investment management firm. You will own the SEC reporting function for a non-traded REIT, drive the quarterly close-to-filing process, and partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and reporting processes.

The role requires 6+ years in public accounting or SEC reporting, deep US GAAP knowledge, and experience with technical accounting research. CPA preferred, with REIT experience a plus.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting.
• Strong ownership of full-cycle SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K).
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience with technical accounting research and memos.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience in REITs or NAV-based reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Own and drive the quarterly close-to-filing reporting process, including coordination of internal controls.
• Draft and refine MD&A in partnership with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Oversee XBRL/iXBRL tagging and ensure accuracy of disclosures.
• Partner on technical accounting research, memos, and implementation of new standards.
• Monitor evolving FASB/SEC guidance and assess impact on reporting.
• Collaborate closely with external auditors and support audit and review processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and reporting efficiencies.

You’ll take ownership of the SEC reporting function for a non-traded REIT while partnering cross-functionally to enhance reporting processes, strengthen controls, and support technical accounting initiatives.
