Job description

About Knox

Knox runs the largest Federal & DoW managed cloud, building and operating secure cloud and AI environments that support the U.S. government’s most critical missions — from national security and public safety to essential public services. Our customers rely on Knox to deploy production systems that meet the highest standards for security, reliability, and compliance.

Work at Knox is high-impact and purpose-driven. The problems we solve are high-stakes, the expectations are high, and the results are visible. Speed, rigor, and trust matter here - because the environments we secure cannot fail. Your contributions are visible, your expertise is relied upon, and the impact of your work is immediate and measurable. We operate at federal scale, securing some of the most sensitive government environments in the country - because the systems we build must perform without fail.

As a Technical Account Manager II at Knox, you will own strategic customer relationships for Enterprise customers operating within Knox’s FedRAMP-authorized cloud environment. This role is responsible for ensuring operational success after implementation, driving customer alignment, managing escalations, and serving as a trusted advisor across technical and operational initiatives.

You will act as the primary customer advocate within Knox, coordinating closely with SRE, Security, Compliance, Engineering, and Customer Success leadership teams to ensure customers operate successfully in highly regulated environments.

Candidates with experience in customer success, technical account management, cloud operations, FedRAMP environments, or regulated customer operations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own ongoing customer relationships following implementation and production go-live.
  • Serve as the primary operational and strategic point of contact for customer accounts.
  • Advise customers on operational best practices, process adherence, and platform adoption strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams during operational incidents, escalations, and customer-impacting events.
  • Drive customer meeting cadence, operational reviews, and executive status updates.
  • Ensure customers align with Knox operational expectations, SLAs, incident response procedures, and change management processes.
  • Identify customer risks, operational gaps, or adoption concerns and proactively drive mitigation plans.
  • Partner with TIMs and Engineering teams to ensure continuity between implementation and long-term operations.
  • Advocate for customer needs internally while balancing platform standards and operational scalability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to customer operations, service delivery, and customer experience.
  • Work Location: Preferred location is Arlington, VA. This role is primarily in-person, while allowing for hybrid flexibility based on business and customer needs.
Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years total, including 3+ years of direct FedRAMP/RMF or federal authorization experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in FedRAMP, federal cybersecurity/compliance, RMF, ISSO/ISSM functions, security assessment/audit, cloud operations, technical account management, or related roles.
  • 3+ years of direct experience supporting FedRAMP authorization, RMF, and/or ongoing authorization and ConMon activities.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting an organization through authorization activities, including areas such as SSP/control documentation, evidence development, assessment readiness, POA&M management, ConMon, annual assessments, significant changes, or agency/assessor responses.
  • Strong working knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and shared responsibility in cloud environments.
  • Experience translating technical, security, and compliance requirements into clear guidance for customers and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working directly with federal agencies, CSPs, 3PAOs, ISSOs/ISSMs, AOs, or similar authorization stakeholders.
  • Understanding of federal cloud procurement and how FedRAMP authorization supports agency adoption, security review, and ATO processes.
  • Experience independently managing customer relationships, competing priorities, escalations, and cross-functional technical workstreams.
  • Strong executive and technical communication skills.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred.
Compensation Range: 130k-150k, variable annual bonus, and equity
