Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a Principal/Managing Director for its Global Portfolio Solutions team in the United States. You will serve as Carlyle's primary technology value creation resource for the Americas, partnering with deal teams and portfolio company technology leadership to drive outcomes across investment theses and ownership stages.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of professional experience as a CTO, CIO, or senior technology executive in PE- or venture-backed environments.
• Deep expertise in technology value creation, including product engineering, software architecture, infrastructure modernization, and AI/ML adoption.
• Experience leading complex technology transformation programs and familiarity with the private equity deal cycle.

Responsibilities

• Partner with portfolio management and deal teams to develop and execute technology value creation roadmaps aligned to each company's investment thesis.
• Advise portfolio companies on large-scale technology transformation programs, including carve-outs, acquisitions, modernization, platform consolidation, and cloud migration.
• Evaluate portfolio companies' technology spend to optimize profitability across labor, software, hardware, and services.
• Engage CIOs/CTOs/CPOs/CFOs/COOs/CEOs and PE investors to prioritize technology investments and organizational design.
