Job summary

HIA Legal seeks a Technology Transactions Associate in its Austin office to work on high‑quality IP and commercial transactional matters for technology clients. The role emphasizes drafting, negotiating and managing complex agreements within a collaborative, mentorship‑driven environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ law firm experience, be eligible to practice in Texas, and bring strong drafting, negotiation and project management skills, with excellent academic credentials

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience at a law firm.
• Eligibility to practice law in the State of Texas.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and project management skills.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• A technical or scientific background is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work on technology licensing agreements, development and consulting services agreements, distribution agreements and strategic alliances, and licensing of websites and apps including terms of use.
• Handle IP aspects of M&A, investments and financing transactions.
• Contribute to IP aspects of mergers, acquisitions, public offerings, financings and other multidisciplinary transactions.

Technology Transactions Associate | Austin

A leading law firm is seeking a Technology Transactions Associate to join its growing Austin office. The group advises technology companies at all stages of growth on intellectual property and commercial transactions, working as part of an established and dynamic national practice.

Associates can expect exposure to matters including

• technology licensing agreements
• development and consulting services agreements
• distribution agreements and strategic alliances
• website, mobile application and terms of use licensing, and
• IP aspects of M&A, investments and financing transactions.

Associates will work on the intellectual property aspects of mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, financings and other multidisciplinary transactions, gaining broad exposure across the technology lifecycle.
