Staff Accountant

Smith Teamaker is growing rapidly and we’re in search of a professional, reliable, service-minded person to join our team. The Staff Accountant directly contributes to Smith Teamaker’s success through supporting and performing a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. The role acts to ensure accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations through processing and assisting with tasks in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a solid technical accounting background, effective communication skills, and can work as a team member while effectively managing their time to manage multiple priorities.

Your day-to-day includes owning the full Accounts Receivable cycle, data entry, journal entries, and the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of routine financial data following pre-determined guidelines to support the functions of the organization. You are meticulous, work at a quick pace, and enjoy variety in your day and your coworkers; you’re known for your agility during unforeseen change.

Thisfull-time, hybrid (on-site and remote)position is available immediately and will be an active member of our Accounting Department.Standardhours are 8am-5pm PT Monday-Friday, thoughsomewhatflexible based onindividualand businessneeds. Occasional weekend work may be required in coordination with high-volumeperiods or special events.

Core Responsibilities
  • Performs various accounting tasks supporting the department including, but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end reconciliations and ad-hoc analysis
  • Supports accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes
  • Prepares internal and external financial reports based on accounting information and data
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data as requested
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information discreet and confidential
  • Ensures system integrity and compliance with accounting system requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree - preference for Accounting/Finance
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in accounting or related business area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Accounting Software (QuickBooks Online preferred)
