Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Tech Specialist 3 - Embedded Project Management to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role involves overseeing the delivery of physical security systems, ensuring compliance, managing timelines, and engaging with partner teams. Responsibilities include coordinating design handoffs, resolving challenges, reviewing project submittals, attending meetings, reporting project status, managing system programming and equipment delivery, and supporting system commissioning and turnover. The position requires managing project-level coordination from design to acceptance and ensuring documentation and processes are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements.
  2. Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
  3. Resolve complex system issues for security systems and networks.
  4. Provide Tier 3 support to the system administration team.
  5. Program and integrate systems globally.
  6. Troubleshoot systems using advanced networking and system administration skills.
  7. Communicate with customers, vendors, and system administrators.
  8. Train system users and support personnel.
  9. Modify and analyze preventive maintenance checklists.
  10. Troubleshoot performance issues and implement corrective actions.
  11. Perform preventive maintenance, including backups and database checks.
  12. Document system performance and support records.
  13. Set up desktop hardware and operating systems.
  14. Research and evaluate existing and future systems.
  15. Perform final programming and onsite support post-deployment.
  16. Read and interpret engineering drawings and SOP/SOW documentation.
  17. Maintain test lab equipment and support performance evaluations.
  18. Coordinate with engineering for design efficiency and support remote system interfaces.
  19. Provide advanced database support and conduct R&D on new systems.
  20. Delegate tasks to Level I and II specialists using design documents.
  21. Ensure PITCO build outs adhere to SOWs and coordinate installation issues.
  22. Support field personnel with installation issues and document support calls.
  23. Research new system manufacturers and perform duties with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • No clearance required.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with electronic security systems installation, troubleshooting, or testing.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools like Microsoft Project.
