Job summary

Ashland Specialty Ingredients, GP invites you to support customers in implementing our products at our Wilmington, DE site. This Tech Services Manager role reports to the NA Innovation Lead and is key to the specialty additives R&D function.

Responsibilities include providing technical support, identifying new product opportunities, evaluating new technologies, and leading cross-functional projects with global teams to meet strategic targets.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in polymer science or chemistry.
• 5–10 years of experience with coating formulation and additives.
• 5–10 years of technical service experience in coating-related industries.
• Experience leading global multidisciplinary project teams.

• Provide technical support to customers to facilitate implementation of Ashland products and build relationships with senior technical staff at key customers.
• Identify new product opportunities or applications through customer contact and market knowledge and collaborate to initiate new projects.
• Evaluate new technologies in customer-specific formulations and advise on technical and market development.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to understand industry needs; lead or participate in research projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Maintain awareness of new technologies, competitive threats, opportunities and regulatory developments in coatings and allied fields.

Ashland Specialty Ingredients, GP invites you to support customers in implementing our products at our Wilmington, DE site. This role reports to the NA Innovation Lead and is a key position within the specialty additives R&D function.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers to facilitate implementation of Ashland products and build strong relationships with senior technical staff at key customers.
• Identify new product opportunities or new applications of existing products through customer contact and market knowledge, and collaborate with the team to turn these into new product projects.
• Evaluate new technologies in customer‑specific formulations and provide input on technical and market development to promote the growth of Ashland technology platforms.
• Work with marketing and sales professionals to understand industry needs; lead or participate in multiple research projects with members of multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve targets.
• Maintain awareness of new technologies, competitive threats, opportunities and regulatory developments in the coatings and allied fields.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in polymer science or chemistry.
• 5–10 years of experience with coating formulation and additives.
• 5–10 years of technical service experience in coating‑related industries.
• Experience working with global multidisciplinary project teams and ability to lead such teams.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Travel up to 30% of the time.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced degree in polymer science or chemistry.
• 10+ years of experience in coating application and additive development.
• Entrepreneurial mindset.
