Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Dallas is seeking a Vice President to lead Risk Practices and Control Management within the Digital Risk Office. You will partner with engineering leaders to mature technology controls and bridge complex architectures with risk governance.

The role emphasizes designing, implementing, and measuring control frameworks, ensuring regulatory readiness and auditability across global platforms, and driving a risk-aware culture across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Experience developing IT policies and procedures following international methodologies in software engineering.
• Strong grasp of enterprise tech: cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, APIs, containerization, CI/CD, and databases.
• Deep knowledge of risk/control frameworks: NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT, CSA CCM, ITIL.
• 7+ years in tech risk, cybersecurity, software engineering, cloud security, or IT auditing.
• Strong verbal/written communication to senior stakeholders with delivery focus in fast-paced environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, cybersecurity, IT, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee risks and controls across engineering products, educating control program owners on risk posture.
• Develop and enhance the control management framework across systems.
• Foster collaboration with control, process and risk teams.
• Assess policies and control changes for risk management alignment.
• Review control designs to ensure robust risk mitigation and compliance.
• Maintain an integrated control environment mapped to risk taxonomy.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate to actionable engineering requirements.
• Drive assessment readiness for audits and controls assessments.
• Establish KRIs, control metrics, and monitoring.
• Translate risk concepts into clear business terms for leadership.
