Job summary

The City of Gainesville's GG Information Technology Administration seeks a Technology Project Manager to lead large-scale infrastructure transitions, cloud migrations, and lifecycle management. You will report to the Assistant Technology Director and coordinate resources, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in CS/IT/BA, 10+ years managing complex projects, with 5+ years in technology projects; government experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum Ten (10) years of experience managing complex projects with at least Five (5) years of experience managing technology projects.
• Experience in a government environment is preferred, though not required.

Responsibilities

• Manages multiple technology projects simultaneously, including scoping, scheduling, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and resource coordination.
• Utilizes project management tools to track project deliverables, monitor progress, and maintain project documentation.
• Provides project management support to technology teams and serves as a liaison between internal departments, consultants, vendors, and external partners.
• Coordinates technology planning, requirements elicitation, procurement, testing, and implementation activities related to technology projects.
• Prepares, reviews, and administers project budgets, change orders, and contract amendments.
• Supports the development and implementation of technology improvement plans and strategic initiatives.
• Facilitates project team meetings, develops project plans and schedules, and tracks milestones and deliverables.
• Communicates effectively with team members, customers, vendors, consultants, other municipalities, and community stakeholders.
• Facilitates RFPs/RFQs/SOWs and evaluation in coordination with procurement staff; applies critical thinking to resolve issues.
