Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation seeks a Production Operator for the Main Plant in Amelia on a 4/4 night shift schedule. You will operate production equipment to produce pigment dispersions, handle materials and boxes, and support cross-department communication to ensure smooth process flow.

A high school diploma or GED is required; an associates degree and forklift certifications are a plus. Must be able to lift 55 lbs, follow SOPs, and complete safety and cybersecurity trainings as required.

Qualifications

• Certification to operate all three plant industrial trucks and elevated platforms is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Basic MS Office skills required; proficient with simple calculations.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment to produce pigment dispersions per SOPs.
• Handle materials, boxes, labels, and move skids with forklifts or material handling equipment.
• Maintain clean working areas including floors, tanks, and equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth process flow and reporting.

Production Operator – Main Plant – Amelia – 4/4

Essential Job Functions

• Operates production equipment to produce quality pigment dispersions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Operates within a defined area making support materials to contribute to the final products manufactured.
• Makes boxes, applies labels, moves skids of materials with material handling equipment.
• Cleans flooring, tanks, and equipment regularly.
• Interacts with other departments to share information for successful process flow.
• Adheres to strict work instruction details to comply with customer requirements.
• Complies with all safety procedures and safety training requirements.
• Includes monthly completion of Dupont training modules.
• Completion of cyber security modules, and any other company mandated training requirements.
• Reports immediately any potential unsafe area or act to leadership.
• Communicates required information in all phases of production processes including but not limited to interactions with shipping and receiving, quality control, maintenance, leadership, human resource if necessary.
• Includes both verbal and written communications.
• Operates material handling equipment including hoists and sit‑down and stand‑up forklifts.
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs repeatedly.
• Must be able to meet all requirements as called out below for basic skills for language skills, reasoning skills, mathematical skills, and physical skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred or pass a pre‑employment screening assessment.
• Associates Degree is a plus.
• Maintain certification in operation on all three types of plant industrial trucks and elevated platforms.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic skills in MS Office software; basic math skills.
