Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation with global reach is seeking a production operator to independently run manufacturing equipment and cover other plant roles when needed.

Responsibilities include following batch tickets, providing lab samples, reporting near-miss incidents, cleaning, labeling, and participating on plant teams while ensuring safety and quality checks.

Qualifications

• Equipment cleaning, tub washing, plant cleaning and waste disposal.
• Labeling containers.
• Gather and weigh ingredients. (Scale operation)
• Participate on plant teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot mixing equipment.
• Train others on procedures and safety.
• Support inventory checks and material handling.
• Assist with preliminary quality checks.
• Engage in safety initiatives and housekeeping.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Under minimal direction, independently operates production equipment in various areas of manufacturing. Able to fill in for other positions in the plant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review batch tickets; read, understand, and follow.
• Provide samples to lab.
• Report near miss incidents and improvement opportunities.
• Equipment cleaning, tub washing, plant cleaning and waste disposal.
• Labeling containers.
• SAP inventory look-up.
• Gather and weigh ingredients. (Scale operation)
• Participate on plant teams.
• Stock rotation / Minimization of partial containers.
• Ingredient traceability.
• Operate and trouble shoot mixing equipment.
• Training others.
• Preliminary quality checks.

SAFETY:

• Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean work area and work safely.
• Participate actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions.

ISO / QUALITY MANAGEMENT / PSM INITIATIVES:

• Follow all standard operating procedures with respect to performance of position duties.
• Stay updated on all applicable procedures.
