Job summary

Mary Kay Global in Lewisville, TX seeks a maintenance technician to support sanitation and routine repair of processing and packaging equipment under GMP. Under direct supervision, you disassemble and reassemble machinery, perform inspections, and help ensure safety and cleanliness across the line.

You will apply basic hand tools, read SOPs, and participate in preventive maintenance, CIP tasks, and logbook documentation.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Able to read, write, and perform basic math for paperwork and records.
• Able to interpret SOPs and WI with related experience or training.
• Capable of using basic hand tools to disassemble/reassemble processing machinery.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure correct assembly and prevent injury.
• Mechanical skills demonstrated via a test with 35%+ on tasks.
• Able to stoop, crouch, kneel, and lift 50 pounds independently.
• Must have manual dexterity to handle small components.
• Shift or schedule changes may be required.
• Scissor lifts and electric pallet jack certification required.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble processing and packaging machinery for sanitation.
• Sanitize machine parts and surfaces following SOPs and procedures.
• Maintain and troubleshoot stem pumps, quadro, and related equipment.
• Perform CIP for IBCs and processing lines; clean exterior tanks.
• Assist maintenance and production staff in repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Review and sign logbooks per GMP requirements.

Summary

Provide a high level summary of the overall purpose, scope and objective(s) of the job that explains why the job exists. Under direct supervision, performs routine and specific duties such as disassembling and reassembling processing and filling equipment for the purpose of sanitation and assists in the repair, replacement and/or adjustments of this equipment. Contributes to ensuring safe working practices are followed and contributes ideas to simplify and standardize the workplace.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Utilizes basic hand tools to disassemble, inspect and reassemble processing and packaging machinery so that parts may be sanitized in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices. Reassembles sanitized equipment. Follows Micro and safety precautions to prevent product contamination and injury to self and others.
• Sanitizes filler parts, tanks, hopper bins, hoses, pumps, quadros, and other processing/packaging machine parts and surfaces following written Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Responsible for the repair, replacement, adjustment, inspection, problem identification, and preventive maintenance of the stem pumps, quadro and pump equipment to ensure that machinery is ready for operation.
• Performs CIPs for IBC’s, processing equipment and direct bulk feedlines. Cleans exterior surface of stationary bulk holding tanks.
• Assists Production and processing Technicians in the repair, replacement, adjustment, inspection, problem identification, and preventive maintenance of packaging and processing equipment to ensure that machinery is ready for operation
• Reviews and sign logbooks to ensure proper documentation in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Education High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience 1 year of manufacturing experience.

• Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations as demonstrated by successfully passing a math test, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions, in order to complete paperwork and maintain records pertaining to packaging maintenance.
• Ability to interpret and apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) typically acquired through one year related experience or shop training.
• Ability to use basic hand tools to disassemble and reassemble processing machinery.
• Ability to follow proper safety procedures to ensure correct assembly of processing equipment and to prevent injury to self and others.
• Must have mechanical skills demonstrated by passing a mechanical test with a score of 35% or greater on the best of three tasks in order to assist in the repair, replacement, adjustment, and inspection of processing equipment.
• Must be able to stoop, crouch, kneel, and lift 50 pounds independently in order to disassemble, reassemble, repair, replace, adjust, inspect, and maintain processing machinery and to sanitize fillers, , and other machine parts.
• Must have the manual dexterity to manipulate and assemble small objects and pieces of machinery.
• Shift or schedule change may be necessary due to changing business needs.
• Scissor lifts, and electric pallet truck certification required.
