The Florida House of Representatives seeks a technical expert to act as a committee analyst, researching and evaluating technology-related policy issues and preparing staff analyses, reports, legislation, and amendments. The role supports staff directors and committee members, and responds to inquiries with clear, objective analyses.

Ideal candidates will bring a mix of technical, legal, or policy expertise and a public service mindset.

Formación

• Knowledge of legal research methodologies and legislative drafting principles.
• Knowledge of information technology and related areas, including cybersecurity and data management.
• Knowledge of Florida state government, legislative rules and procedures.
• Ability to communicate technical and policy subjects clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to conduct thorough, well-documented research within deadlines.
• Ability to organize data for presentation in reports and documents.

Responsabilidades

• Analyzes and objectively summarizes proposed legislation, evaluating effectiveness and impact.
• Researches and drafts legislation and amendments.
• Monitors implementation of legislation to assess compliance and issues.
• Conceives and conducts research projects and prepares reports with findings and recommendations for legislative action.
• Briefs legislators verbally and in writing on issues for committee, floor, or constituents.
• Assists in planning committee meetings and coordinating speakers and materials.
• Performs other related duties as required.
