Torrance Memorial Medical Center is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician for weekend night shifts to support hospital pharmacy operations. You will assist in medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management under supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with pharmaceutical procedures, medications, and compounding.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations governing medication dispensing.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems and manual medication carts.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (e.g., CPhT) required.
• Demonstrates understanding of infection control, safety procedures, and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Select, label, and process medication requests, including floor stock and controlled substances.
• Prepare and deliver medications promptly, ensuring all medication requests are checked and approved by a pharmacist.
• Extemporaneously compound preparations such as IVPBs and neonatal/adult parenteral nutrition following aseptic techniques.
• Operate and log usage of unit dose machines and automated dispensing systems; manage inventory and restocking.
• Accurately process prescriptions, complete billing, and handle medication reordering from manufacturers and wholesalers.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, and ensure compliance with quality control policies.

Job Summary: This PRN Pharmacy Technician role at Torrance Memorial Medical Center requires a detail-oriented professional capable of supporting pharmacy operations during weekend night shifts. The technician will perform medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Select, label, and process medication requests, including floor stock and controlled substances.
• Prepare and deliver medications promptly, ensuring all medication requests are checked and approved by a pharmacist.
• Extemporaneously compound preparations such as IVPBs, large volume IV solutions, and neonatal/adult parenteral nutrition, following aseptic techniques and completing documentation.
• Operate and log usage of unit dose machines and automated dispensing systems; manage inventory and restocking activities.
• Accurately process prescriptions, complete billing, and handle medication reordering from manufacturers and wholesalers.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, and ensure compliance with quality control policies, including outdates checks.
