Job summary

SURGERY CENTER JV in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the Delivery OR under the supervision of licensed nurses. You will transcribe physician orders, assemble and maintain patient charts, stock forms and supplies, and support nursing staff with patient care requests.

The role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (preferred) and involves first scrub in the Delivery OR, maintaining a clean work area and smooth operation of the department

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under supervision in a fast-paced OR environment.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physician orders and routes them to the correct departments promptly.
• Courteously answers patient calls and notifies nursing staff of needs.
• Assembles and maintains charts from admission to discharge.
• Performs first scrub role in the Delivery OR and stocks department and OR after procedures.
• Maintains inventories of forms and supplies and keeps a clean, orderly work area.

• Under the direct supervision of licensed nurses accurately transcribes physician’s orders, placing orders to other departments by the correct method and in a timely manner


• Courteously answers patient calls giving the patient reassurance and immediately notifying nursing personnel of patient’s needs


• Initiates, assembles, and maintains charts from admission to discharge. Following discharge, prepares the chart for transport to health information management.


• Knowledgeable of and performs computer applications as appropriate to clerical responsibilities


• Maintain appropriate inventories of forms and supplies


• Maintain a clean and orderly work area


• Perform first scrub role in the Delivery OR


• Stock department and OR after procedures
