Valley Hospital Medical Center, part of the Valley Health System (VHS) – an acute care and teaching hospital in Las Vegas – is seeking a qualified Cardiothoracic Scrub Technician. The role involves assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with instrumentation during open‑heart surgery and managing tubing for the heart‑lung (pump) machine.
Assist cardiothoracic surgeons with instrumentation during open‑heart surgery and prepare/manage tubing used by the heart‑lung (pump) machine.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited surgical technologist program, or a comparable program administered by the U.S. Public Health Service or U.S. armed forces.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years scrubbing in a major operating room and at least 1 year as an open‑heart scrub technician.
License/Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Other: Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patient.
