Job summary

Viking Electric in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Tech Modification Specialist to build and assemble projects per customer specifications using wiring diagrams and schematics. The role demands strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work to schedules, and collaboration across departments.

A high school diploma and 2+ years in electrical/mechanical work are required. Full-time position with a 6:00am-2:30pm schedule, located in Milwaukee.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years electrical and/or mechanical background, including warehousing and assembly.
  • Strong mechanical and analytical aptitude, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics knowledge.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Good manual dexterity and experience with power and hand tools, and engraving equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and handle pressure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team across departments.
  • Proficient PC skills: Excel, Word, Outlook; internet navigation.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble projects to the customer’s specifications.
  • Assist in production of various phases of assemblies and complete turnkey projects with manager direction.
  • Perform light manufacturing of multiple product categories in a fast-paced build shop, following processes for accuracy.
  • Interact effectively with Viking team members, other departments, and vendors.

Tech Modification Specialist

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Schedule: 6:00am -2:30pm Monday – Friday

Hourly pay: $23.00 - $28.00/hr

What You’ll Do

Build and assemble projects based on customer specifications utilizing wiring diagrams, schematics, work orders and pictures provided. Provide quality products as well as meet the production schedule for all projects.

You will…

  • Assemble projects to the customer’s specifications.
  • Assist in production of various phases of assemblies, but also be able to produce a turnkey project from start to finish with direction provided by manager.
  • Perform light manufacturing of multiple product categories in a fast-paced build shop, following defined processes for manufacturing accuracy.
  • Effectively respond to and interact with all levels of Viking team members and other departments, and with vendors.
Requirements
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years electrical and/or mechanical background, including warehousing and assembly.
  • Strong mechanical and analytical aptitude, along with understanding and basic knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Good manual dexterity and experience with power and hand tools, and engraving equipment
  • Strong organizational skills. Able to manage time effectively
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and handle pressure
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member; and collaboratively across departments
  • Proficient PC skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); internet navigation and other PC skills
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Powered Industrial Equipment certification
  • No vision hinderances in relation to color
