Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the 2nd shift to support adolescents with behavioral and emotional challenges. You will supervise patients in treatment, education, and activities, ensuring safety and using least restrictive intervention methods.
The role requires HSD/GED with preferred Bachelor's in psychology or related field and up to six months of residential psychiatry experience. CPR and Handle with Care training are required pre-employment.

The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.
The Mental Health Technician (MHT)performs direct patient care duties in a residential behavioral health setting. The Mental Health Technician is responsible for supervising the patient in treatment, recreation, educational settings, and other activities of daily living to assess changes in their social behaviors and clinical status. MHT’s have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient’s safety in the facility. MHT's are responsible for understanding and using the least restrictive interventions per facility policy and successfully avoid seclusion and restraint whenever possible.

Requirements:
HSD/GED REQUIRED.
Preferred: Bachelor Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, human services or like field (increase in wages)
Experience: Preferred six month's experience in residential psychiatry or other childcare facility/agency experience in comparable position
Background: Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening. The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requires all new hires to successfully complete and pass an extensive Level 2 background screening, which covers U.S. Federal, State and City checks (submitting fingerprints), prior to the start of employment.
