Responsibilities

La Amistad is accredited by The Joint Commission.

We offer a number of options (tracks) for MHT staff, including PRN, Full-Time, and a Clinical Track. The MHT staff work directly with their assigned client population and are primarily responsible for client safety through programming and observations.

Essential Job Duties

• Assists and monitors client’s activities of daily living. Provides an alert, sensitive, and supportive attitude with clients, families, employees, and management.
• Interacts therapeutically with clients in one-to-one situations, community, and group meetings.
• Has a basic understanding of common psychiatric diagnoses.
• Maintains professional boundaries and demonstrates effective communication.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred.
• Preferred experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as an MHT working with children, adolescents, and/or adults.
• License/Certification not required.
• Skills: Demonstrates verbal and written communication abilities.
• Clear background check for criminal activity.
• Physical requirements: extensive walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs; able to lift over fifty (50) lbs.
• Eligible for a $1 to $3 shift differential in addition to regular hourly pay rate.
