Doctors Hospital of Laredo, located in Laredo, TX, is seeking a Mammography Technologist to operate mammography equipment and perform procedures under radiologist oversight. You will review patient data, ensure accuracy, and communicate findings to the care team.

The role requires ARRT Mammography certification (or registry eligibility) and BLS, with a focus on patient safety and image quality in a busy imaging department.

Formación

• Education: Graduate of an AMA Council of Education approved radiologic technology program; associate's degree preferred.
• Licensure: ARRT certification; Mammography certification or registry eligible.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic Mammogram and the performance of all Mammogram procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
2. Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
3. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.

Licensure: 1. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by A.R.R.T on Mammography or registry eligible.

2. BLS Required

Skills: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas. Must possess a positive and courteous attitude and take the initiative to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.
