Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Technology Manager to direct its customer digital platforms, including web, mobile, and chat experiences. You will oversee delivery, reliability, security, and performance of mission‑critical customer apps while aligning with business strategy and technology standards.

You will champion AI-enabled software engineering, drive modernization of development practices, and manage a team of 30+ employees and contractors to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of technology experience; 4–6 years of direct supervision experience.
• Experience with customer-facing digital platforms, cloud, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering teams for AEP’s customer-facing web, mobile, chat, and conversational platforms.
• Own delivery of the technology roadmap for customer digital platforms.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver digital capabilities.
• Ensure secure, scalable, resilient solutions aligned with standards.
• Establish metrics for customer experience, platform reliability, and value delivery.
• Lead AI-enabled engineering and agentic development practices across teams.
