Black Rock Groups is seeking a Senior Java Lead Engineer to drive the design and development of scalable microservices while accelerating Generative AI and Agentic AI adoption. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

The role emphasizes partnering with AI frameworks, cloud platforms, and modern SDLC practices to boost engineering productivity and system performance.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Java Lead Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise application development and a passion for AI driven engineering. The ideal candidate will lead the design and development of scalable microservices based solutions while driving the adoption of Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities using GitHub Copilot and modern AI frameworks.

Must Have

• 10+ years of hands on experience in Java application development.
• Strong expertise in:
• Java 17+
• Spring Boot
• Spring Cloud
• Spring Security
• Microservices Architecture
• REST APIs
• Kafka/Event Driven Architecture
• Experience designing and building cloud native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, system design, scalability, and performance engineering.
• Hands on experience with GitHub Copilot and AI assisted software development practices.
• Experience conceptualizing, designing, and implementing Generative AI solutions using LLMs.
• Knowledge of Prompt Engineering, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), and AI application architecture.
• Experience leading technical teams, conducting code reviews, and mentoring engineers.

Good to Have

• Experience building Agentic AI solutions using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Hands on experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or similar LLM platforms.
• Knowledge of Vector Databases and AI evaluation frameworks.
• Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Payments, Cards, Banking, or Financial Services domain experience, preferably Mastercard ecosystem exposure.
• Exposure to AI governance, responsible AI practices, and secure AI solution development.

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross functional teams to deliver high quality solutions.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the delivery lifecycle.
• This role is ideal for a seasoned Java engineering leader who combines strong backend engineering expertise with emerging Generative AI and Agentic AI solutioning capabilities.

Note: The pay range for this role is $110,000- $130,000 per annum USD including any bonuses or variable pay.
