Job summary

NVIDIA in Austin is seeking an experienced engineer for its Ethernet Switch Networking Development team. You will lead the verification effort, partner with Architecture, SDK & Firmware teams, and build new test infrastructure to enhance the Ethernet Software Stack.

The role requires 8+ years of network software validation, expert Python, Linux, and strong CI/CD experience, plus leadership to coordinate global teams. Base salary ranges from $184,000 to $287,500 with equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science / Software / Electrical Engineering (or similar) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in developing software for Network validation and verification.
• Expert level Python skills and Linux knowledge.
• Experience with large-scale verification or automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of software, tools, and libraries to maintain OS verification infrastructure.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, DevOps, and software teams.
• Develop new test suites for network protocols and pre/post silicon tests (bring up/simulation/ Palladium).
• Develop performance indicators and benchmarks to evaluate software performance.
• Build dashboards and reports including regression analysis and degradation detection.
• Transform and improve existing automation workflows to rapidly deploy new software releases.
• Drive CI/CD evolution using AI agents and latest toolsets/models.
• Guide code reviews and architecture discussions and define standard verification methodologies.
• Coordinate projects across verification teams worldwide.
• Mentor and be a role-model for junior team members.

NVIDIA wants a highly qualified engineer for its Ethernet Switch Networking Development team based in Austin. You will work within a rapidly growing team to better serve customers and show results. This role blends leadership with hands-on technical involvement, emphasizing on Networking Switch SDK Verification. This person shall partner with Architecture, SDK & Firmware development, and Customer Facing teams. They will compose new test infrastructure and actively improve current systems to boost the quality of NVIDIA's Ethernet Software Stack.

What You’ll Be Doing:

What We Need to See:

• Strong networking background (L2 / L3 / L4).
• Proven Linux knowledge.
• CI/CD & DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, Docker).
• Strong communication and leadership skills to align multiple teams and deliver results.

Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd:

• Background in scalable or distributed systems.
• Experience with multi-node testing or performance validation.
• Strong debugging skills (especially concurrency issues) while maintaining a cool and calm personality
• Deep understanding of networking, data center topologies and embedded system architecture.
• Previous experience validating vendor/merchant silicon.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD.
