Job summary

Smeal, a REV Group brand, is seeking a Tech Lead to provide technical leadership in manufacturing, actively supporting lean and continuous improvement activities. The role expects cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and Operations, driving standard work, quality compliance, and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in the area, strong communication, and experience with Kaizen events, blueprints, and basic tooling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of product, processes, operations, theory, and practice in assigned area.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read blueprints, routings, and BOM.
  • Ability to lead by example and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective action.
  • 2+ years experience in assigned area.
  • Participated in at least 2 Kaizen events.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements.
  • Team-oriented with reliable attendance.

  • Collaborate with customers as needed.
  • Operate equipment and tools required for the job.

SUMMARY:

Tech Leads provide technical leadership and direction in assigned manufacturing. This role actively participates and suports a work environment that is focused on lean and continuous improvement activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job
  • Assist other team members and departments as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of product, processes, operations, theory, and practive in assigned area
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to read blue prints, routings, and BOM
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Ability to identify root cause, implement corrective action, where gaps to the goal exist
  • 2+ years experience in assigned area
  • Participated in at least 2 Kaizen events
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines
  • Ability to retain and apply instructions
  • Work overtime on short notice
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Must be detailed orientated
  • Ability to read and understand truck specification documents
  • Ability to communicate and understand in English
  • Ability to work within safety guidelines
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must be able to work with little to no supervision after two weeks
