Job summary

Desert Research Institute (DRI) in Reno, NV is seeking four part-time Technology Interns to support the 2026-2027 school year, working up to 12 hours per week. The interns will join Nevada Robotics to help 3D print, build, and install the 3D-PAWS weather station interface, while assisting with data logging and reporting.

Ideal candidates are undergraduates in engineering, physics, computer science, or related fields, with Python, MATLAB, and office-suite experience.

Qualifications

• Full-time, undergraduate college student status.
• Majoring in engineering, physics, computer science, or related area of study.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams and Outlook) and Google Suite.
• Familiarity with Python, R, or MATLAB for data analysis and visualization.

Responsibilities

• 3D print, build, create an interface for, and install 3D-PAWS weather station components.
• Log, report, and communicate findings clearly within the team.
• Collaborate with the 3D-PAWS intern team to meet project goals and timelines.
• Attend and support Saturday student drone competitions.
