Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation is seeking an Ink Technical Service Representative to provide dedicated technical ink support to customers across OH, NY, MI, and WV. You will identify and address technical and continuous improvement needs, ensuring seamless delivery of our products and services.

The role requires strong project management, deep pressroom and printing process knowledge, and collaboration with product management on trials and new formulations.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of ink industry experience.
• Experience with Kepner Tregoe, Six Sigma, SunMatch.
• Industry laboratory and press equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
• High level of pressroom and printing process knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in process improvement initiatives with customers and Sun employees.
• Makes product selection decisions with Product Management and conducts trial activities.
• Provides training related to ink blending, inventory, work off, and related functions.
• Reports field activity in Salesforce and completes trial/technical reports.
• Submits and follows up on regional color match lab requests.
• Provides emergency backfill support for products as needed.

Job Title: Ink Technical Service Rep

Location: OH, NY, MI, WV

Shift:1st Shift

Pay:Based on Experience

Travel: 70% and overnight, including air/flight

In this role, you will provide dedicated technical ink support to our valued customers in OH, NY, MI, and WV. In this role, you'll be pivotal in identifying and addressing the technical and continuous improvement needs of our assigned customers, ensuring the seamless delivery of our products and services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Leads and participates in process improvement initiatives with customers and Sun employees. This requires dedication of significant time, as well as Sun Chemical resources to support the customer through major operational improvement projects including press throughput, decreased color down time, inventory, and work-off management, print quality improvements. Will participate regularly with the end use customer as our customer arranges, to provide expertise for successful graphic campaign changes and launches, and to provide expertise in job planning.
• Makes product selection decisions in accordance with Product Management based on end use application and conducts appropriate trial related activities. Conducts research to develop custom products, coordinates with internal product management to define product recommendations, provides fitness for use guidance that aligns with end use application, required specifications, and customer process.
• Supplies training needs to customer employee base, especially where it pertains to performance of ink blending, inventory, work off, and other basic functions of ink blending inhouse.
• Reporting field activity within the reporting tool (salesforce.com). Completes technical call reports and trial reports as needed, including both internal and external documentation.
• Submits, and follows up regional color match lab requests.
• Provides emergency backfill support for our products in case of sudden loss of customer supplied blending.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5-10 years of ink industry experience
• Experience with Kepner Tregoe, Six Sigma, SunMatch
• Industry laboratory and press equipment
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
