Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA, seeks an ER Technician to administer patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. You will follow the plan of care and manage patient needs, from infancy to geriatric, to ensure smooth patient flow.

Requirements include BLS certification, CPI training within 30 days of hire, and EMT/CNA/Medical Assistant status or RN coursework; dysrhythmia cert within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association.
• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required or RN program enrolled.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements

• One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
• Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
