Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX, a 414-bed acute care facility, seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support endoscopic procedures. You will assist in room setup, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure availability of instruments and equipment, with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Minimum 1 year endoscopy experience is preferred. BLS certification must be completed during orientation, and GI Technical Specialist certification should be earned within 1 year.

Qualifications

Reading and numerical competency.
BLS Healthcare Provider certification to be completed during new hire orientation.
GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification to be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of surgical sites.
Practices aseptic technique.
Assist in preparation of room prior to endoscopic procedure and cleaning room after procedure.
Assists staff and surgeons to insure instruments, supplies, and equipment are available for endo procedures.
Take assigned call as required.
Exhibits knowledge of age specific needs of patients of all psychosocial, and/or cultural backgrounds.

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. Minimum Of 1 Year Endoscopy Experience Required

BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines must be completed during new hire orientation prior to working in a clinical setting.

As an Endo Tech, must complete the GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification within 1 year.

Able to read and write on a 12th grade level. Basic computer skills. Requires the ability to respond to call within 30 minutes.
