Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Principal Associate in Tech & Cyber Risk within the Business Risk Office in Richmond, VA. You will drive end-to-end risk management for technology and cyber initiatives, partnering with risk and technology stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across AI implementations and large-scale architecture transformations.

You will lead risk assessments, support remediation, and promote enterprise risk frameworks while ensuring timely reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
At least 2 years of experience in technology (software delivery, distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, infrastructure as code), cybersecurity (identity and access management, application security, cloud security, data protection), technology auditing, systems risk management, technology risk assessments, resilience engineering, chaos engineering, site reliability engineering, or a combination.

Responsibilities

Drive end-to-end technology and cyber risk assessments from initiation to remediation.
Support AI application risk assessments and architecture transformations.
Manage stakeholder relationships across engineering, operations, cyber, risk functions, and leadership.
Identify, design, and implement workflow improvements for risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
Monitor risk metrics, prepare audit-ready documentation, and lead risk forums.
