Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Tech - Cardiology/EKG (FT Days). The EKG technician performs ECGs and applies Holter monitors, while upholding service excellence with patients and staff.

Responsibilities include adult, pediatric, and neonatal 12-lead EKGs, charting, privacy compliance, and equipment maintenance. A High School Diploma and BLS certification are required; CPR/ACLS preferred.

Position: Tech - Cardiology/EKG (FT Days)

POSITION SUMMARY

The EKG technician performs ECGs and applies Holter monitors. The tech also utilizes service excellence principles toward all their customers.

PROVISION OF SERVICES

• Performs adult, pediatric, and neonatal 12-lead EKG.
• Manages general office duties relating to patient records, procedure charges, filing, scheduling, and charting.
• Cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Adheres to patient privacy as stated in policy.
• Provides an environment conductive to safety for patients, visitors, and employees.
• The EKG Technician will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions.
• The EKG Technician will comply with appropriates and approved standards.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
