Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX seeks a Registered Nurse to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies and patient-centered care standards. You will lead the healthcare team and support delivery of high-quality care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires graduation from an accredited RN program, Texas RN license, BLS certification, and adherence to safety and competency standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s).
• BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment.
• Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; does not require maintainin
• Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

Accs

• Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
• CCRN, TNCC and Cardiovascular certification preferred for specialty units.
• 100% score on medication test – employee will have two chances to pass exam with remediation material available.
• ACLS completion within three (3) months after hire or promotion.
• Must pass EKG, Blood Gas Analysis and BKAT exam with a score of 85% upon completion of didactic/computer orientation program – employee will have two chances to pass exams with remediation material available.
• Satisfactory return demonstration of competencies required for critical care specific processes and equipment.

***Employment is dependent on passing above exams and competencies.***

***Experienced critical care nurses may test out of didactic/computer orientation with a score of 85% on the Blood Gas Analysis and BKAT exam.***
