Job summary

Jennison Associates is seeking a Technical Business Analyst in New York, NY to join our front office technology team. You will partner with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Sales & Distribution, and Marketing to design and deliver data-driven, AI-enhanced investment tech solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, BI Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong SQL skills with experience analyzing and validating enterprise data.
• Hands-on experience developing dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI.
• Experience building business process automations using Power Automate.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical specs and user stories.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile software development teams.
• Experience with AI-enabled business solutions (Generative AI, Copilot, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, and objectives.
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
• Analyze enterprise data using SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric to identify insights.
• Design dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics with Power BI.
• Design and implement automated workflows using Power Automate and Power Platform.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve processes and user experiences.
• Collaborate with software developers through design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Create user stories, process flows, functional specs, and acceptance criteria.
• Validate data quality and ensure solutions meet requirements.

Our Function

The Technical Business Analyst sits within our front office technology team and partners closely withPortfolio Managers, Research Analysts, Sales & Distribution, Marketing, and other investment professionalsto design and deliver innovative data, analytics, and AI-driven solutions. Our team is building the next generation of investment technology by leveragingMicrosoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Automate, AI, and modern cloud technologies. You will play a key role in understanding business processes, analyzing enterprise data, identifying opportunities for automation, and helping deliver intelligent solutions that improve decision-making and productivity. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, enjoys solving complex business problems through data, and wants to help shape the future of AI-enabled investment technology.

Your Impact

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and strategic objectives.
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
• Analyze enterprise data using SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and other analytical tools to identify trends, insights, and business opportunities.
• Design dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics solutions usingPower BI.
• Design and implement business workflow automation usingPower Automateand related Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
• Identify opportunities to leverageArtificial Intelligenceto improve business processes, automate workflows, enhance reporting, and deliver intelligent user experiences.
• Work closely with software developers throughout solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Create user stories, process flows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Validate data quality and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Support Agile development activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, user acceptance testing, and production support.

Your Required Skills & Qualifications:

Your required skills must include:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 2–5 yearsof experience as a Data Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong SQL skills with experience analyzing and validating enterprise data.
• Hands-on experience developing dashboards and data visualizations usingPower BI.
• Experience building business process automations usingPower Automate.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical specifications and user stories.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.
• Experience using or implementingAI-enabled business solutions, including Generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, intelligent document processing, workflow automation, conversational AI, or similar technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withMicrosoft Fabric, Power Platform, Azure, or modern cloud analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting investment management, financial services, or capital markets.
• Experience with Power Apps and Power Platform solution development.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of relational databases including Oracle and SQL Server.
• Experience with ESG, financial market, investment, or reference data.
• Programming or scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
• Passion for applying AI and modern analytics to improve business processes and user experiences.

The base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $140,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
