Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a Senior Data Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technical delivery. You will design data features, support enterprise data change, and drive measurable value from client data across cross-functional teams.

The role requires SQL, Python, ETL, and strong data governance expertise within a cloud-based data warehouse. Hybrid work arrangements and a competitive compensation package are offered.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data analysis, architecture and warehousing in a cloud environment.
• Proven track record leading data projects and initiatives with strategic impact.
• Familiarity with agile methodology and experience in agile ceremonies.
• Experience writing SQL and Python scripts for analysis of data warehouses across platforms such as Databricks Delta Lake, Snowflake, Oracle, MS SQL Server.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Your opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of our client value stream and enterprise data team. As a senior data business analyst, you will work across business and technology teams to design and deliver valuable data features, support enterprise data change and transformation initiatives, and extract measurable value from our client data. You will play a pivotal role by leading analysis projects that drive business impact through data.

• Lead collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to understand their challenges, objectives, and needs. Partner with the client data product owner to translate business needs to technical specifications and agile features, such as data models and pipeline designs. Evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend solutions that align with business strategy.
• Represent the needs of client data and our stakeholders on cross-functional data change and transformation projects. Serve as a key liaison across the client value stream, enterprise data team, peer data owners and stakeholders. Ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and updates. Communicate effectively across all lines of business, from day-to-day business users to the executive level.
• Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support business decisions, enhance data quality, and resolve operational issues using SQL, Python, and ETL tools. Present and communicate clear and timely findings to business and technical stakeholders. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to influence business decisions.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for distribution data and the firm’s enterprise data strategy and transformation initiatives. Understand and apply best practices in data management to new data features in the client data warehouse and our downstream products.
• Document data flows, establish clear data definitions, and participate in other data governance initiatives. Champion data governance and quality standards across the organization.
• Together with the product owner, lead agile project planning activities, including risk identification, user story definition, and feature prioritization.
• Complete and support Quality Assurance (QA) testing and engage in agile ceremonies to ensure project objectives are met within sprint cycles.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights.
• Work collaboratively with technical teams to develop data pipelines and analytics solutions within agile frameworks.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies, tools, and best practices in business analysis and data management.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Must have skills

• Extensive experience in data analysis, architecture and warehousing in a cloud environment.
• Proven track record leading data projects and initiatives with strategic impact.
• Familiarity with agile methodology and experience in agile ceremonies. Experience in leading and mentoring teams in agile environments.
• Demonstrated experience writing SQL and python scripts for analysis of data warehouses in any of the following database platforms: Databricks Delta Lake, Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
• Demonstrated experience with data visualization or reporting tool such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI Tool.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Initiative and the ability to design technical solutions and progress projects with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication and time management skills. Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• A team player with a client-first mindset.
• Prior experience in the financial services industry.

Compensation information

The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $135,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This position will be open through October 30, 2026.
