Job summary

The Information is seeking a reporter to break news and write high-impact stories about Apple at a pivotal moment in the company's history. The role blends aggressive scoops with deeply reported features and profiles, and will place you at the center of AI, hardware, and services coverage.

You will join a collaborative team in San Francisco or New York, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office and opportunities to shape our coverage for a broad, influential audience.

Qualifications

• At least three years of business or technology reporting experience.
• A track record of scoop-based reporting in business, technology, finance, or politics.
• Ability to cultivate sources and develop a beat.
• Familiarity with major developments in tech, consumer hardware and AI over the last three years.
• The ability to work out of The Information's San Francisco or New York office.

Responsibilities

• Break news about Apple's strategy, leadership, product roadmap, and deals.
• Write in-depth profiles about Apple's most important leaders and the people shaping its ecosystem.
• Report on how Apple is positioning for the AI era, from its chips and on-device models to Siri and its relationships with Google, OpenAI, and others.
• Immerse yourself in the topic to write with authority and generate story ideas.
• Cultivate relationships with trusted sources inside and around Apple, including suppliers, developers, regulators and competitors.
• Contribute to editorial products such as org charts.
• Work with colleagues out of our three newsrooms.
