Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking a Tech Audit Supervisor to lead engagements from planning to completion for technology clients. You will mentor staff and manage multiple engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables and strong client service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting with a CPA license, at least 3 years in public accounting leading engagements, and solid proficiency in US GAAP. NYC or East Brunswick presence is expected, with travel as needed.

• At least 3 years public accounting with leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Strong audit experience with technology clients and solid knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement teams on planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement including staffing, planning, risk assessment and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision to engagement staff and promote communication with the engagement partner.
• Collaborate with seniors, supervisors and partners to resolve client issues and advise on regulatory and accounting matters.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently to meet client deadlines.
• Create and monitor engagement budgets to identify inefficiencies.
• Guide team members through evaluations and professional development discussions.
• Deliver training as an instructor or discussion leader.

This team provides audit services, Review and compilation services and other agreed upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries.

This Tech Audit Supervisor role will be based out of our East Brunswick, NJ or New York City, NY. You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, to include supervision/mentoring of staff and building/maintaining relationships with clients.

How You’ll Spend Your Time:

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service to clients
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion
• Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication to the engagement partner
• Collaborating with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
• Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit
• Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA license
• At least 3 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
• Strong commercial audit experience and/or experience serving technology industry clients is required
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments

The compensation for this position ranges by location. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. New York City ranges are from - $90,000 - $165,000 annually

East Brunswick ranges are from - $85,000 - $175,000 annually
